Candidates need to satisfy the following criteria to be considered eligible for doctoral studies in select schools at XIM University, Bhubaneswar as indicated below. PERTAINING TO CANDIDATES HAVING A BACHELOR’S DEGREE AS THE HIGHEST DEGREE:
Candidates seeking admission to a school under XIM University after a minimum of 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree (e.g. B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc-Agriculture & Allied Sciences / B.Arch / B.Plan) should have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent.
PERTAINING TO CANDIDATES HAVING A MASTER’S OR EQUIVALENT DEGREE:
Candidates seeking admission after a Master’s or an equivalent degree need to meet the school-specific requirements as in the table below

For SC / ST categories a relaxation of 5% will be applicable on all schools tabled above. In case the score is available on a letter-grade system or grade-point system, the University expects a minimum equivalent of prescribed percentage of marks in aggregate as per the awarding University’s norms for conversion to a percentage.
Step 1: | Enter your basic credentials in the New User section to get your unique XU ID/Login ID/Username and Password by email for logging into the application form of XIM University. |
Step 2: | In the Existing User section, login with your XU ID/ Login ID/Username and Password. Fill out the Personal Details, Education and Work Experience details, Choose the program you want to apply for, Write your Statement of Purpose (SoP), Upload your photo & signature and Submit. (You may keep ready the scanned/digital images of your photo/signature in JPEG format, in advance. The dimensions of photo may be of about 200x250 pixels, and the signature may be of about 250x125 pixels, both images within 50 kb to 100 kb each in size). |
Step 3: | Pay the application fee through the Payment Gateway. (Application fee is 1800 INR). |
If you have filled in the application form and paid the application fee successfully, you will receive the confirmation by email regarding the acceptance of your online application form. Application fee is nonrefundable in nature.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their academic records and Statement of Purpose (SoP). The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for XIM Research Aptitude Test (XRAT), followed by Research Presentation, and Personal Interview, the details of which will be communicated in due course. Details about XRAT is available separately on our website www.xim.edu.in/admission.
Candidates who have qualified UGC NET (Category-1: JRF) will be exempted from XRAT. However, they will take part in the other selection processes as listed above.
Candidates qualified in UGC-NET (Category-2: Assistant Professor and Category-3: Admission to Ph.D) may appear for XRAT (Conducted by XIM University) to become eligible for a University Scholarship based on merit. These candidates are required to take part in the other selection processes as listed above.
The coursework for the selected candidates is expected to commence from June/July 2025.
PART-A
The university shall obtain a “No Objection Certificate NOC” through the candidates for Ph.D Part Time program from the appropriate authority in the organization, where the candidates are employed, clearly stating that;
The NOC needs to clearly state points 1-3 indicated above and needs to be on the organization letterhead and signed by theappropriate authority. The contact details of the organization need to be furnished on the letterhead.
PART-B
The candidates selected for the Ph.D Part Time program who are not employed anywhere should submit a self-declaration at the time of joining the program clearly stating that he/she will not join any organization for employment during the course of study without prior intimation and approval from the concerned authority. In case he/she joins any employment while pursuing the doctoral program at XIM University, he/she needs to submit the NOC from the appropriate authority of the new organization (with format and content accordingly as given under PART-A) within 30 days of joining the organization, failing which the studentship will be cancelled.
A candidate can apply to only one program and one school. Multiple application forms filled by one candidate will be rejected. Before proceeding to the application form go through the Indicative Research Area section of different schools offered Ph.D in XIM University, Bhubaneswar in order to specify your choice of areas of research.
The last date to fill up the application form is February 28, 2025.
